The 1st of June 6/1/21
The adventure begins. We left my parents house three days ago and started to make our way out of California and into Texas.
After selling the house, and moving into the trailer, we don’t have a permanent address and we are both feeling a little untethered. Don’t get me wrong - we get that was the goal - but it is a little disconcerting. Especially when just about everything requires you to have an address.
We had hoped to make it all the way to Livingston, Texas - where we will sign up with the Escapees RV club to get a mailing address, and join their mail forwarding services - but we can only get so far in three days. We are now camped out in San Antonio for the work week and will head to Livingston this coming weekend. One of the drawbacks of working from the road - you actually have to spend the work week working.
The past three days were a blur. Way too many miles on the road, cheap RV campgrounds off the interstate, dubious meals, and gale force winds that had us dancing down the highway but not in a good way. We arrived in San Antonio exhausted and completely disorganized. We have spent this first day getting settled, catching up on work and email, grocery shopping, doing laundry, allowing our souls to catch up to our bodies. It is bedtime now and we are both feeling a little bit more in our skin. Tomorrow should be a good day - fingers crossed
